  • Questions & Answers about BMI

    : What is BMI?

: Body Mortality Index! Just kidding-Body Mass I\ndex

    : Why is it important?

: It tells you the future of the qualit y of your life and how long you will live.

: How do I find my BMI?

: Easy divide your weight by your height in inches and divide that again by your height in inches and multiply that by 703

For example you weight 195 pound and you are 6ft tall IE. 72 in.

    Thus: 195/72/72x703 = 26.45

    Your BMI is: 26.45

: How long will I live?

: Approximately 75-80 years because your BMI is lesss than 30

To have a better chance of living to 80 it would be better if you had a BMI of 25 since at that BMI you do not increase your health risk

: What if my BMI was higher than 30 what would be the consequences.

: That depends on how much higher

In general for every 3 points increase in BMI you doubke the risk of heart disease, diabetes and stroke and decrease your lifespan by 5 years thus if your BMi was 40 you are likely to die by 65 rather than 80 and have 8 times the risk of poor healkth

    : What can I do?

: Simple LOSE AT LEAST 5-10 POUNDS or...get more insurance to take care of thos who you love and love you
